Morecambe set for season opener

Josh Dixon will take his side to Netherfield on April 25 having had a free weekend as the rest of the league got underway last Saturday.

The Woodhill Lane side instead played their final warm-up of the season at Lancashire League side Ramsbottom.

It was a disappointing day for the visitors as Ramsbottom posted 224-4 with Martin Cropper scoring 110 and South African professional Daryn Smit 90. In reply, Dixon’s men were bowled out for just 88.

Also on Saturday, the second team host Netherfield at Woodhill Lane in a 1pm start.
