Winning the toss, the visitors asked Garstang to bat first with Michael Walling greeting the opening bowlers with a flurry of boundaries before Greg Hall bowled Fayaz Ughradar (0) and Michael Wellings (5), leaving them 30-2.

From here, middle order contributions from Mark Walling (13) and Coen Oosthuysen (12) helped the score along but both also fell to Hall (4-63), leaving the score at 82-4.

Walling, still going strong, was joined by Matthew Crowther and the duo blazed the ball to all parts, propelling Garstang into a healthy position.

They added 59 before Walling was caught at mid-wicket having made an excellent 72 from 69 balls, featuring 10 fours.

Professional Ashwin Hebbar (3-33) claimed the wickets of Crowther (30) and Ian Walling (4) as well as running out Mark Winstanley (3) in the final over but it still left the hosts with a score of 161-8 on the board.

After a short interval, and fresh from an unbeaten century on the same ground earlier in the season, Hebbar set about showing the crowd exactly why he had been in the IPL auction.

Having been on the receiving end of Hebbar, Ian Walling (1-21) was somewhat delighted to see the back of him with just his second delivery faced, gleefully caught behind by Crowther.

This was the start of a procession of wickets, with all the Garstang bowlers contributing.

Danny Gilbert (2-27) picked up Nick Hodgson (6) and captain Jonathon Osborne (5) to leave the visitors 45-3.

From here, Ughradar (4-14) bowled immaculately and proved hard to get away and, along with Oosthuysen (3-8), bundled Penrith out for just 80 inside 25 overs with only Nicky Burns (30) making it to double figures.

A fantastic result lifted Garstang back to fourth place in the table after a couple of disappointing defeats.

Next up for them is a trip to third-placed Netherfield on Saturday (1pm).
