Winning the toss Matt Jackson had no hesitation in batting but at 8-2 it didn’t seem the best of decisions as Ian Davies (4-59) claimed Andy Butler (0), stumped by Matthew Hedges, and then Adam Bee (2) was caught at slip.

It took Chris Parry (65) and Daniel Woods (35) to steady the ship and push the score to 88-2 and after Woods fell Stuart Errington (40) joined Parry at the crease.

Luckily for Norcross Matthew Puttick (1-56) produced a good one to get Parry caught behind. James Ferguson (60) joined Errington and the pair regularly found the boundary,

The recovery by Woods and Parry had turned into a commanding total thanks to the Ferguson and Errington partnership.

Both fell in the last over trying to go big as Torrisholme amassed 211-6.

Norcross’ reply got off to a poor start as Jackson (2-17) dismissed skipper Chris Allen (0) in the first over. Dan Woods (2-22) was also quickly into the wickets having Parker (4) caught at mid-wicket by Ferguson.

Jackson then cleaned up J Davies (2) and from here Norcross never attempted to reach the target.

Jordan (1-18) clean bowled David Baker (20), then Graeme Lee (2-27) had Ian Davies (2) caught by Woods.

Between those wickets Jack Heap (3-30) had entered the attack and the young spinner wrapped up the tail, a smart caught and bowled the pick of his wickets.
