Cream of crown green crop heading to city for major event

The cream of crown green bowling will arrive in Lancaster on Saturday to take part in the Builders Supplies (West Coast Ltd) Invitation 32.

The game’s No.1 and No.2, Gary Ellis and Greg Smith, are joined by many of the top-ranked bowlers, including John Bailey, Chris Brown, last year’s winner Wayne Ditchfield, Ryan Prosser and Ben Harris at Skerton Liberal Club on Lune Street.

The bowlers are playing for one of the richest one-day prize funds in the game at £3,600 with a first prize of £1,000.

The event also attracts legends such as Tommy Johnstone, Mike Leach, Chris Mordue and Carl Armitage.

There is parking for 150 vehicles, home-made food served all day, cheap ale, marquees, under-cover viewing area and a bookmaker on site.

Entry is £1 with a full colour programme and bowling starts at 10am.
