Classy Cooke claims man of match award after superb display

In the Lancaster and Morecambe Table Tennis League the three prominent local teams have enjoyed a week of frantic action.

In the local senior league Premier Division, Morecambe A managed to defeat the B team 21-16 with Matthew Cooke man of the match with a 100 per cent match record.

Cooke was well supported by Nathan Beamer and Aiden Branch. Hudson Nuttall and Abinav Sinha won the doubles for the losing team.

The Championship Division match between Morecambe C and the D team produced a close result with the former scraping home 19-17.

Matthew Westworth won all his singles sets to claim man of the match and also partnered Madi Thompson to win the doubles against Toby Ellis and Bradley Wilkinson .

The teams were soon back in action when they took part in the North West Junior League at the weekend.

The A team of Matthew Cooke, Nathan Beamer and Aiden Branch had a successful day and lie second in the league just behind a strong Preston team.

Adam Ordenez, Hudson Nuttall and Abhinav Sinha also played well to keep the B team in contention along with, Toby Ellis, Bradley Wilkinson and Matthew Westworth, the youngsters in the C team.
