Having secured promotion to Division 3 North seven days earlier coaches Kevan Holden and John Edmondson saw their side run riot.

Some excellent running rugby saw Mathew Short finish off a sweeping move involving Dan Blenkharn, Nick Hamer and Dave Hones to open the scoring.

Five minutes later and a superb solo break from Jason Short saw him take the ball 60 yards before offloading to brother Mathew who finished under the posts.

Joe Harrison then made a break before feeding fellow centre Sam Tomlinson to power through for a try, with Mathew Short making it three conversions out of three.

On the half hour Hamer sent out a superb pass to Brad Wheatman who sprinted away for try with the flanker adding a second minutes later from a Shane Weed offload.

Hooker Hones was next on the scoreboard when he finished off a good try following fine work by Mathew Short who again made a decisive break through the middle.

On the stoke of half-time Short completed his hat-trick, adding a conversion for a 43-0 lead.

There was no let up for Bolton after the break, Short again carving through the defence with Dale Lowrie the beneficiary as he crossed for a try.

Skipper Blenkharn’s hard work was then rewarded with a try which Harrison converted from the touchline.

Jason Waterhouse completed a dominant performance by being the next to cross the whitewash with a turn of pace seeing him touch down with Donald Haddow converting.

Carnforth completed the rout with three late tries, Harrison getting two with Tomlinson completing the scoring.

Carnforth complete their league campaign at Kellet Road against Burnley 3rds on Saturday before travelling to Rochdale to face Capenhurst in the Shield Final on May 7.
