Joe Harrison and Sam Tomlinson both went close early in the second half before they linked together down the left flank to allow Edmondson to glide through for his second try.
Carnforth then took the lead when from a scrum on half way Dan Blenkharn took the ball and it came out to Edmondson.
Again the centre had plenty to do but a turn of pace down the flank saw him cut back inside to score his third try of the day, which was converted, to give Carnforth a 19-14 lead with eight minutes to go.
Anselmian pushed for the vital try which would have seen them through in the away try rule but Carnforth’s spirited defence kept them out in injury time to secure their place in the final.
