Bulldogs keep up hopes of honours

Trimpell Bulldogs revived their fading quest for league honours in the Lancaster and Morecambe Table Tennis League Premier Division when they dominated their match at home to Garstang Cowboys.

Raymond Carr, Alan Holt and Jamie Bradbury hit top form to win 29-9. Holt and Bradbury completed the match with 100 per cent records including winning the doubles against Tommy Kennedy and Michael Charter.

Trimpell Dragons played well to draw their match 17-17 away to University A.

Jared Holmes and Daniel Welbourne won the vital doubles to clinch the result. Dudley Jackson also made a welcome return from injury to make a valuable contribution to the Dragons’ fine performance.

In the Championship division Morecambe kept their faint hopes of promotion alive with a narrow 22-17 win at home to Garstang D who also have similar ambitions.

Ken Richardson gave the home team a fine start winning the first set of the match 3-1.

John Allen and Joe Peat hit back for Garstang before Hudson Nuttall and Adam Ordenez won the doubles convincingly 3-0.

University Vipers recovered from losing the doubles to win their away match with MCHS Aces 21-15.

Matthew Knowles-Cooke and Tom Garvey stuck to the task to win the fifth game of the doubles 13-11 however the academics recovered to win three of the last four sets.
