Morecambe’s former English and Commonwealth featherweight title holder is plotting his next move after a technical draw out in Denmark with European champion Dennis Ceylan.

A rematch could be on the cards but another option for the Westgate Warrior is however to headline the first major professional show in the area since Marcus Duncan won the Central Area bantamweight title at the Carleton nightclub back in 1995.

The plan has been backed by Lowe’s good friend Tyson Fury with his manager Steve Wood in talks about the possibility of making his man’s dream come true by staging a big fight night on the pitch at Morecambe FC’s Globe Arena.

And with Bentham light-heavyweight Tomi Tatham and another Westgate fighter Reece MacMillan also having significant followings in the area Lowe believes a show makes perfect sense.

“If you put a show on in the town, Tomi will sell a load of tickets and I will,” said the Shrimps fan who lives just a few hundred yards from the ground.

“There’s Reece MacMillan too. The show would actually sell itself.

“I’m going to do my best with the backing of Tyson to get a show on hopefully at the football ground.

“That’s my dream fight. I don’t care if it’s now or 10 years down the line.

“Whatever belt it’s for my dream since I was a kid has always been to fight there.

“I’m proud of where I come from, I wear the club’s colours on my shorts every time.

“The support from the local community means a lot and if I can give something back that would be great.”

Fury’s support could be key, the former world heavyweight champion having seemingly resolved the problems that led to him relinquishing the belts he won by ending Wladimir Klitschko’s 10-year unbeaten run.

“Tyson is sick of me going away and being in the away corner,” said Lowe.

“He’s right really. I’ve proved people wrong though when I’m supposed to be getting beat.

“Tyson’s willing to back me and put the money in to get me a big fight back here.

“If you’ve got people like the world heavyweight champion supporting you then it’s great.”

The plan has been backed by Tatham, a popular fighter in the Lancaster area and beyond, who is also managed by Manchester-based Wood.

“If I got the chance to fight locally it would be brilliant to get everyone along,” he said.

“Everyone can’t always make it to Preston or Manchester.

“It would be brilliant and I’m sure Steve would be able to get me a good fight.

“I know I’d be able to sell the tickets to help cover it.

“Isaac could headline, I’d be chief support and there’s young Reece and guys from Preston and elsewhere could be on the undercard.”
