The Morecambe-based club’s fighter started in explosive fashion landing a right early in the contest which damaged Price’s nose and was checked on by the ringside doctor.

Vidal forced a standing eight count before the round was out and in round two landed another right that resulted in a second count.

The doctor allowed the Chesterfield fighter to continue but there was no let-up from Vidal who felled Price who couldn’t beat the count.

There were mixed fortunes on the night for Skerton as Robert Dugdale lost out on a split decision in his quarter-final.
