Lowe: Quigg will win big one against Frampton

The Westgate Warrior features on the undercard as the two super bantamweights do battle for the IBF and WBA titles at the sold out Manchester Arena on February 27.

Unbeaten Lowe, who will do battle with Frampton stablemate Marco McCullough for the vacant Commonwealth featherweight title, sparred with Quigg on several occasions back in 2014.

The pair shared some rounds at Joe Gallagher’s gym in Bolton when the resort prospect was being trained by Tyson Fury’s uncle and trainer Peter Fury.

Lowe, the current English champion, believes fans are in for a treat and hopes he is changed and showered after his own huge contest in time to watch the big one ringside.

The 22-year-old said: “I think Quigg’s going to do it. I really do.

“I’ve sparred him a few times and everyone thinks he’s a technical boxer but he’s an excellent fighter too.

“When he hits, he hits really hard.

“I think he’ll get the stoppage late on or win on points

“You can never rule out Carl Frampton but I’ve just not been that impressed with his last couple of fights.

“Styles make fights though and it should be a great fight. Hopefully I’ll be back in my seat to watch it!

“It’s just a privilege to be on the undercard.”
