Impressive young fighters put in top quality performances
A packed crowd in the sports hall saw a triumphant but controversial evening of boxing as Coastal’s top young fighters impressed.
The night began with two ‘skills’ bouts involving Coastal’s Zane ‘‘The Mexican’ Cooke and Harrison Woodruff who both delivered all-action displays in fights where the ringside judges were not scoring.

And he lived up to his Royal billing, dominating Sabeer Ghafari from Longsight to win a clear unanimous decision.

Hide AdCoastal were soon back to winning ways thanks to Downey ‘Hurricane’ Howard’s unanimous points win over Dougie Chalmers of Eccles.
Ethan Brierly was the pressure fighter and puncher in his bout with stylish Sonny Davidson of Timperley and had the fight been a round longer he would surely have stopped his opponent.
However, Davidson’s stand-up boxing earned him the unanimous win.
The rangy Norbert Gorniak was well-matched against a familiar foe, Chris Taylor from Huyton, but despite a strong finish, Gorniak lost a split decision.

Joe Craddock looked in great shape and boxed superbly in his bout with Josh Bruney of Preston and Fulwood.
Craddock always looked in control and it was a complete shock to many when Bruney was given the split nod.
Coastal rebounded though, winning the last three bouts on the bounce thanks to a classy win for Troy Gallagher by unanimous decision, a fiery first round stoppage win for Dawid Zelewski and a deserved albeit close points win for Bob Rowntree.
Fighter of the night was Blaze Havoc Harcourt.
