Athletics: Lancaster 5k series comes to an end

Lancaster and Morecambe Athletics Club runners have been out and about on the roads.

At the final race in the Lancaster 5k series first back for the club was Michael Crawley in 16m.38 for sixth overall.

Next was Mark Holgate in 17m.20 to finish 13th, with Mark Leadbetter two places behind in 17m.33 and closely behind was Chris Pyle running well in 17m.36.

First female for the club was Jayne Perry with an excellent run of 19m.46 earning her second female place.

Lancaster runners also recently took part in a new event on the race calendar; the Race2Remember charity 8km trail around Nicky Nook in the Forest of Bowland.

Sean Davis was first club runner to finish in 38m.44 for eighth place overall.Paul Mackie was next in 34m.50 and he was followed by Louise Goddard who ran well to complete the course in 44m.55.

At the Lea Town 10k Lancaster’s Raymond Edgar finished fourth overall in a time of 34m.33.
