Amazon Prime Day: 13 of the best deals on smartphones including Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel

If you are looking to upgrade your phone game, Amazon’s Prime Day deals feature some incredible savings no matter the budget. From high-end, high-spec super phones to mid-range devices that punch above their weight, there is something for everyone. 

The deals are available during the online retail giants summer sale, which runs until 11.59pm on Wednesday, 17 July. However don’t sit on your hands as deals can be completely snapped up before you know it.

See some of the best phone offers you can get as of 4pm on Tuesday, 16 July. The deals were picked by tech writer Matthew Mohan-Hickson. 

Google Pixel 8 range

Amazon Prime members can get great deals on Google’s Pixel 8 range of phones in the summer sale. It includes discounts on the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro and Pixel 8a. 

Pixel 8 Pro 

Shoppers can get 38% off the Pixel 8 Pro unlocked in Prime Day deals. The price has been slashed from £999 to £615.55. 

The deal includes only the phone, no extras, like the watch or pro buds. The phone has a 6.7 inch screen and it comes with the new Google Tensor G3 chip which is built with Google AI. 

The Adaptive Battery can last over 24 hours. Pixel 8 Pro has four updated pro-level cameras with Pixel's best zoom ever. And Pro controls unlock advanced settings and full-resolution images.

Prime members can nab the Google Pixel 8 unlocked with 128GB of storage for 32% off during Amazon’s summer sale. The price is slashed from £699 to £474.05, a saving of over £200.

For shoppers looking for a smartphone in the mid-range budget, the Google Pixel 8a is included in the Prime Day deals. The price has been cut 20% from £499 to £398.05.

In my round up of the best early Prime Day deals, I highlighted the incredible offer on the Galaxy S23 Ultra - and it was such a good deal that it has been completely snapped up and is no longer available. But fear not, Amazon has plenty of amazing deals on other Galaxy phones. 

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 (UK edition) 

Shoppers looking to jump into the future can grab Samsung’s current flagship folding phone - the Galaxy Z Fold5 - with 35% off the price tag. The phone, which launched in 2023, is available for £1,144 instead of the usual £1,749 - a saving of over £600.

Samsung Galaxy A35 (UK version) 

Shoppers can get 29% off the Samsung Galaxy A35 in the Prime Day deals. The price is cut from £339 to £239, a saving of £100.

Samsung Galaxy A55 5G (UK version) 

For those wanting something a little more powerful than the A35 but without breaking the bank, you can get the Samsung Galaxy A55 at a 20% discount in the Prime Day deals. The price has been cut from £489 to £389 - a saving of £100. 

Like the Galaxy A35, the A55 has a 6.6 inch screen which boasts a super AMOLED Infinity-O display. Capture crisp shots even in low light with a 50MP high-resolution wide-angle camera and there is a front-facing 35MP selfie camera to capture all the important moments in life. 

The A55 also has Corning Gorilla Glass to make it more damage-resistant and claims to have a two day battery life, depending on use. Xiaomi 

An increasingly popular phone developer, Xiaomi is also featured in the Amazon Prime Day deals. Members can get discounts on two of its models and you can get some real steals. 

Xiaomi Redmi Note 13 (UK Version) 

Shoppers can grab 24% off the 4G version of Xiaomi’s Note 13 phone in the summer sale. The price for Prime members is just £151.05 down from £198.70. 

The phone boasts powerful Snapdragon performance, super-clear 108MP triple camera and 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED display with ultra-thin bezel. Xiaomi says the phone can be charged to 100% in just 70 minutes and it has a 5000mAh high-capacity battery. 

One Amazon shopper added: “I've had this now for a few days and it's really a great phone. Charging is super fast, the phone itself works super fast despite some saying it's slow. The camera is also great quality. I upgraded from a Moto G50 and the difference is drastic.” 

Xiaomi 12T 128GB 

Prime members can also get 38% off the Xiaomi 12T phone, which has 5G capability. The price has been slashed from £317.33 to £193.99.

Shoppers can get 31% off the Sony Xperia 1 V in the Prime Day deals. The price has been slashed from £1,299 to £898.99, a saving of £400.

OnePlus phones 

Grab some amazing deals on three of OnePlus’s best phones in Amazon’s Prime Day. It includes one of the best new phones released so far in 2024. 

OnePlus 12 

The latest flagship phone from OnePlus released earlier this year and it is in the Amazon Prime Day deals. Shoppers can get 17% off the OnePlus 12 with the price slashed from £999 to £829, a saving of £170. 

The phone is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 with up to 16GB RAM and ray-tracing enabled next gen graphics. It also intelligently optimises frequently-used apps, reducing memory size for improved stability and instant-wake.

For shoppers wanting the OnePlus experience without the flagship price tag, you can grab the Nord 2T mid-range phone at 27% off in the Prime Day sales. It costs just £170.99 instead of the usual £233.09.
