The figures show the rate of new cases in each area of England, based on tests that have been carried out in laboratories, known as pillar 1 testing, and in the wider community, known as pillar 2 testing.

The daily figures for local areas that are published by the Department of Health are only based on pillar 1 testing, meaning this latest data gives a more accurate picture of which areas are worst affected across the country.

The data from PHE is for the week ending 21 June 2020.

Which areas are worst affected?

Listed is every local authority in England based on the number of coronavirus cases per 100,000 people.
