A big thank you to Mr Darren Peacock, Manager/Head Coach of Lancaster City Football Club, for the best season in a long while.
In his first ever football managers position what a big difference he has made to the whole ethos of players believing in themselves and their own ability.
It was obvious to us loyal supporters at pre-season how much fitter the players were and the way they passed and moved on the pitch that we were in for a season full of “good football”.
The manager has had no big bank roll to buy players just ‘petty cash’ to get the best he could and mould them into a group of players who, in the main, wanted to play for him.
Only one player let him and the supporters down badly – we all know who that was.
To all the players at the Giant Axe, and a lot were local lads, a big thank you to you all for all your valiant efforts this season.
Once again Darren, a big thank you. Looking forward to seeing you next season, God willing.
To the board of my club, Lancaster City FC, please continue to back our excellent manager with what little money we may have and more importantly, the right assistants. Watch out Morecambe, we’re coming to get you.
Name and address supplied.
PS: Lancaster City Councillors – I, along with many other Lancastrians, am still waiting for the return of the horseshoe to it’s rightful place. This is a historic city.
