LANCASTER author Carol Birch is in line for the Man Booker Prize for her latest novel.
Jamrach’s Menagerie has been longlisted for the 2011 award, as well as the Orange Prize 2011, which celebrates female authors.
This is the second time one of the author’s books has received the honour, after she was longlisted for the 2003 Man Booker Prize for Turn Again Home.
The novelist was born in Manchester in 1951, but moved to Lancaster in 1989, where she lives with her husband Martin and sons Richard and Joe.
