Wray's straw-tastic scarecrow festival
In fact it was quite the opposite as visitors were treated to weird and wonderful displays at the village’s annual scarecrow festival.
Loveable Star Wars character, Chewbacca the wookie, was a firm favourite among festival-goers as one villager decorated their front garden in true sci-fi style with a ‘Wray the force be with you’ display. Showing off their love of Disney and the film ‘Up’ were Andy Newport and his sons, Max, five and Harry, three, who stood proudly with their scarecrow. Equipped with his famous black glasses and tennis ball-style walking frame, Up’s main character 78-year-old Carl Fredricksen was chosen by the Newports, illustrating adventure is out there in Wray.
