Women from Lancaster gym take plunge for charity

A group of women from a Lancaster gym have raised thousands by taking part in a swimming relay for charities close to their hearts.

Four women form 3-1-5 Health Club, Ceri, KJ, Deena and Louise challenged themselves in a 22mile relay of Lake Windermere for Kidneys 4 Life and Unique Kidz & Co.

The Lake Windermere challenge was part of the team’s participation in UK National Fitness Day.

All girls had a fear of the open water but were inspired by the progress of some 3-1-5 members to take part in the challenge.

Advised and coached by a team of exercise and swim professionals they embarked on a progressive training programme that would deliver the results they were looking for.

For Deena, Ceri, Louise and KJ the challenge was simply to complete the open water challenge in 14 hours – and they did exactly that.
