Woman cycles 81 miles to change people's lives

A CancerCare employee has put foot to pedal to raise more than £1,000 for the charity.

Alison Stainthorpe set herself a personal challenge of cyclcing 81 miles from Walney Island, Barrow in Furness to Glasson Dock, Lancaster along the Bay Cycle Way route.

Alison, head of operations at the Lancaster cancer charity, raised more than £1,000 for the cause.

“I work at CancerCare and every day I meet inspirational people facing far greater challenges than the one I undertook,” she said.

“Cancer can turn anyone’s life and their family’s lives upside down and takes no prisoners.”
