Weekend road closures take place this week
Drivers are being reminded to take alternative routes and plan their journeys as a number of road closures will take place this week.
Torrisholme Road (B5321) will be closed as new bridge sections will be fitted as part of the Heysham to M6 link road project.
Hest Bank Lane will also be closed as work will take place to upgrade the drainage culvert to help prevent flooding to many properties and businesses within the Slyne-with-Hest area.
The bridge engineers will close the road between Russell Drive and Endsleigh Grove. Barley Cop Lane which leads to the Crematorium and cricket clubs will also have no access whilst the work takes place. The roads will be fully closed to traffic from 10pm on Friday May 15 to 6am Monday May 18.
Pedestrian access along Torrisholme Road and Barley Cop Lane will be available throughout the closure, on signposted walkways. For the drainage work from Monday May 18 until Friday November 6, traffic will be redirected from the Throstle Grove/Hasty Brow Junction onto the A6 Lancaster Road. Hest Bank Lane will be closed to through-traffic during the works. Pedestrians and cyclists can use Hest Bank Lane.
