WATCH: Man '˜bolts' from jewellers with £8,000 Rolex

Police are investigating after a thief allegedly ran out of a jewellery shop with an £8,000 Rolex watch.

CCTV cameras captured the man who is believed to have bolted out of the door of DJM Jewellers in Fox Street, Preston with a high value Rolex Daytona when staff opened it for another customer.

Shop partner David Mounsey said: “He almost knocked the (customer) over, she was traumatised.”.

Mr Mounsey said that the second-hand item had been on display in the shop window before being taken out and shown to the man at around 3pm on Friday, January 15.

He said: “He must have noticed the lock on the door, because the moment one of the other staff members went to open it and let the other customer out, he got the watch in his hand and ran out with out extremely fast.

“We were all shocked, we take security very seriously and we want this man found.”

The man is desribed as black, with a local accent and a goatee beard. He was wearing a blue baseball cap, a blue ‘bubble’ type jacket, grey tracksuit bottoms and white trainers.

Police said they have been made aware of the incident, but nobody has been apprehended. Call police on 101.
