Warning to Lancashire drivers from police in snowy and icy conditions
Chorley police posted a picture on Saturday of a damaged car which crashed on an icy road in the Rivington area.
They said on Facebook: "Please be aware that Rivington and Anglezarke, as beautiful as it is in this weather, is also extremely dangerous due to the road conditions.

"Please also be careful if walking or exercising in the area, as ambulances will have a difficult time in accessing any injured persons due to the conditions."
Ribble Valley police have meanwhile urged sledgers and sightseers to avoid Pendle Hill, partly due to inconsiderate parking.
They posted on Facebook: "Would sightseers please stay away from the villages surrounding Pendle Hill. The roads are atrocious and parking on the country lanes is inconsiderate at best.

"Please consider the necessity to go sledging. A request has been made for the council to limit access to the area purely because people cannot be responsible and considerate.
"Many of those parking have been selfish and the trip unnecessary."
Meanwhile Chorley police said on Saturday afternoon there were certain road closures particularly in the Anglezarke and Adlington areas due to weather conditions.
"Only travel if essential," they added.
