An eyewitness said: “When the plane landed and came into the hangar the police pounced on it.

“There were four police cars, two ‘Marias’ and CID.

“They seized two vehicles and have been searching others. They were there all night guarding the place.”

Another witness said: “The police seemed quite chuffed they had got him.”

Two other men, a 48-year-old from Blackpool and a 67 year-old from Oldham, were arrested on suspicion of drugs offences and bailed until February.

Police left the scene at around 1.30pm on Wednesday after checking through CCTV.
