Voice winner joins Morecambe Carnival line-up

The winner of BBC TV talent show The Voice will perform at Morecambe Carnival.

Kevin Simm has been added to a line-up that already includes Britain’s Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon and pop band Scouting for Girls.

The former Liberty X singer topped the vote in Saturday’s live final on BBC1 and his single ‘All You Good Friends’ is tipped to do well in the UK singles charts this week.

Simm, 35, from Leyland, appeared at last year’s carnival and also at the Morecambe Live festival a few years ago.

He will be part of the carnival live music stage on Sunday, May 1. There will also be an Olympic-themed carnival parade on the Sunday and a fireworks finale. The two-day carnival extravaganza begins on Saturday, April 30 with events including a sandcastle competition, trials bike show and parachute display.
