A recruitment drive has been launched for more on-call firefighters in Cumbria.
Around 47 on-call firefighters are needed at a total of 23 fire stations across the county.
Firefighters are needed at Kirkby Lonsdale, Arnside and Milnthorpe stations as well as 20 others.
Call rates vary from fire station to fire station, with some of Cumbria’s on-call stations responding to over 200 calls a year and others as few as 15.
If successful, the new on-call firefighters will be expected to attend a two-hour training session at their fire station each week plus additional core training courses in order to maintain operational skills.
To apply people will need to carry out a number of nationally recognised tests and have an interview and medical check.
A series of open days are being held so people interested can visit their local station.
