The Leeds Childrens Holiday camp has received thousands of tins and jars of food following the response from 20 primary schools across the Leeds to the charity’s Harvest Festival Appeal.

For 2015, the 110-year-old charity is gearing up to provide more than 500 youngsters aged between seven and 11 with happy seaside memories and the health and well being benefits that a week at Silverdale provides.

Very often, a stay at Silverdale is also the first time that many children will have visited the seaside.

The Leeds Rotary Club kindly collected the 150 boxes of donations and transported them in three transit vans to Silverdale.

Leeds Children’s Charity relies entirely on donations from the public and businesses. Anybody interested in making a donation can get in touch with Verlie at [email protected].
