Passengers now due to leave the island late on the Steam Packet sailing this morning.
They were told to check in by 9.30am, the Ben-my-Chree normally leaves at 8.45am.
Last night (Thursday, February 12) hundreds of passengers were left stranded on the Ben-my-Chree.
The Steam Packet cancelled the journey from the Isle of Man to Heysham and its return after it sustained damage to its propeller.
It meant hundreds of passengers were stuck on board in Douglas harbour at around 5.30pm after the ship suffered engine failure in Douglas Harbour.
The company described the problem as a ‘technical issue’ with the port propeller.
Fire crews and the police were called as a precaution.
The ship finally docked at around 10pm, around four hours late.
The Steam Packet Company advised passengers engineers were continuing to work on the damaged propeller system.
When fixed and tested it is hoped the Ben will then be able to resume its sailing schedule.
