'Significant amount of cash' stolen in Morecambe cash in transit robbery

The robbery happened in Glentworth Road West, Morecambe, at around 11.15am on Monday September 14.

A man in his 30s was struck over the head with a weapon before being robbed of a significant amount of cash.

The thieves then got into a car and hit another vehicle as they left the scene.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.

A police spokesperson said: "The victim, a man in his 30s, was treated at the scene by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

"Anyone with information or CCTV or dashcam footage from the area should call police on 101, quoting log 0525 of September 14th, 2020.

"Alternatively, report it online at https://doitonline.lancashire.police.uk/."
