This month, Morecambe BID launched a campaign called Simple Pleasures, aiming to attract people from across the North West who enjoy fresh sea air, stunning views and outdoor activities.

Mark Needham, General Manager at the Midland Hotel, one of the town's main visitor attractions, said it was great to see guests enjoying themselves at the venue once again.

"Clear concise signage within the hotel and pre-stay communication ensure our guests feel confident we are compliant and that they too adhere to government guidelines when they are staying with us, without compromising their desire to stay and enjoy the North Lancashire coast and surrounding areas of outstanding natural beauty.

"Occupancy is strong for the time of year which is heartening.

Tom Powney, chair of Morecambe BID and himself a businessman in the town, said: “‘Simple Pleasures’ is all about switching off the internet, putting the mobile phone away and coming to Morecambe to dig sandcastles with the kids, walk the dog on the beach and experience the natural beauty of our bay.
