Outdoor markets and car showrooms have been able to open again in England from today.

Up to six friends or relatives are now able to gather in parks and gardens as long they remain two metres apart.

The way deaths are announced nationally means only trust-wide figures are released by NHS England, and it now only includes data for a specific hospital trust on a daily basis if a death has been recorded.

As a result, many trusts did not appear on the list on May 27, meaning a significant number across England did not record any deaths on this day.

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay Trust includes the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, Westmorland General Hospital in Kendal and Furness General Hospital in Barrow - although WGH is being kept as a Covid-free site.

There is a delay in reporting the figures which means that each death is not reported by the NHS on the following day. The statistics include patients who died in hospital - but not other places, such as care homes.

By law, the coronavirus restrictions must be reviewed every three weeks, and the last review was on May 7, meaning another review is on Thursday May 28.
