Morecambe Bay health trust announces further coronavirus death at Royal Lancaster Infirmary

A 78-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 has died, bringing the total number of coronavirus related deaths at the Lancaster hospital to seven.

Aaron Cummins, Chief Executive, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust said: "We can confirm that, sadly, a woman aged 78 has died who tested positive for COVID-19 whilst being treated at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary.

"The lady had underlying health conditions and died in the last few days.

"Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones and we would ask that their privacy is respected at this difficult time."
