Man suffers 'serious burns' to leg as firefighters attend garden fire in Lancaster

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said they were called out to reports of a fire in a back garden in Pinfold Lane at around 11pm on Sunday May 24.

The fire was out when they arrived, but they assisted in giving first aid to a man who had received "some serious burns".

A spokesperson said: "Crews used a trauma pack before handing the casualty over to the care of paramedics at the scene.

"Crews were in attendance approximately 30 minutes."

A spokeswoman for North West Ambulance Service said they took a man to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary who had suffered burns to his leg.
