Lancaster family to feature on CBeebies 'Let’s Go For A Walk' in Morecambe
A family from Lancaster is set to feature on the CBeebies programme "Let's Go For A Walk" with presenter Ranger Hamza, this Friday March 26.
Dr Rachael Rigby and husband Daniel McKenna, who work at Lancaster University, take a walk along Morecambe Prom with their children Monty, seven, and Harrison, five, and talk about some of the things they see along the way with CBeebies presenter Ranger Hamza.
The family applied to go on the show last year, and received a call back from the BBC, who came to see them in their back garden in Lancaster.
They then visited again and chose Morecambe Prom as the place to film in October 2020.
"It was about their interests and what they liked to do and where they liked to go for a walk," said Rachael, who is a senior lecturer in Biomedical Science at Lancaster University.
"Ranger Hamza is a good character, and the kids engaged with him really well.
"They did various activities and went down to the pier where they talked about the Time and Tide Bell, did skipping and jumping games, and went to look at the mountain sculpture near the clock tower.
"They also played football on the beach as the sun went down.
"It should showcase the area really well and we're really looking forward to seeing the programme."
Monty and Harrison, who go to Scotforth St Paul's Primary School in Lancaster, will be on Let's Go For A Walk on CBeebies at 11.05am on Friday, March 26.
