Historic Lancaster hotel to re-open next week

The Royal Kings Arms will open for essential workers only and will offer room service meals and outside dining.

The hotel, in Market Street, has announced today that it will re-open on Friday June 6.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the hotel said: "In accordance with government guidelines to minimise transmission of the coronavirus (COVID-19), this property can only accept bookings from essential workers.

"Reasonable evidence must be provided on arrival.

"If this isn't provided, your booking will be cancelled on arrival.

"We will be reopening our doors from Friday 5th June and Saturday 6th June and every Friday and Saturday thereafter until the guidance from the government is amended.

"To ensure that you are going to be staying in a safe environment, we are going to take all the necessary precautions set out by the Government."

The hotel said The Brasserie and The Crypt are still closed, however the hotel's other food outlet, the Market Street Food Company, will open.

"You can order meals by phone which will then be delivered to your room.

"We do have wine, beer and soft drinks available to go with your meal.

If you wish, you can dine outside on our sun terrace.

"This will be set out in a socially distant way to ensure guest safety," the spokesperson added.
