A spokesman said: "The UK Corporate Games team along with local stakeholders have taken the decision to postpone the event due to be held in Lancaster 23 - 26 July 2020.

"In line with the current government guidelines around social distancing and mass gatherings, we feel this is the most appropriate course of action.

"Our primary concern is the health and safety of our clients, sponsors, partners and sport officials; therefore, we have worked closely with Lancaster University and all associates to confirm that the Games will be rearranged for 3 - 6 September 2020.

"Thank you to the many companies that have already committed to the Games and we guarantee that your entries are secure for the Games in September. In the unlikely scenario that the 2020 Games are forced to cancel, all entries will be rolled over to the 2021 Games.

"We will be releasing further updates in due course."
