Two-car crash on A6 leaves one person trapped

A two-vehicle crash at a crossroads in Lancaster left one person trapped and needing to be freed by firefighters.

Crews from Lancaster and Garstang station attended the incident on the A6 Bay Horse Cross Road, Lancaster at arou nd 7.20pm on Friday.

The casualty was assessed by paramedics before the firefighters released them using holmatro equipment.

They were then left in the care of ambulance crews at the scene.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said crews were at the scene for around 40 minutes.

The condition of the casualty is not known.
