M6 slip road closed due to flooding in Leyland

A lane on the M6 slip road in Leyland has been closed after it became flooded this morning (Monday, October 26).

Lane two of the southbound entry slip road at junction 28 (Leyland, B5256) was closed at 7am after a heavy downpour flooded the carriageway.

This is affecting traffic as you head from Leyland Way to enter the motorway, but traffic is coping well.

A spokesman for Highways said: "The M6 southbound entry slip road at J28 (Leyland, B5256) has one lane closed due to flooding in the carriageway.

"Traffic officers and maintenance crews are on their way to the area."

Traffic on the M6 itself is running smoothly this morning, with no further incidents to report.
