Lorry fire results in lane closure on M6 slip road near Lancaster

A lane on the M6 slip road near Lancaster was closed after a lorry caught fire at around 1.30pm today (December 15).

One lane of the southbound entry slip road at junction 34 (Halton Interchange) was closed to help firefighters tackle the fire.

The trailer of the lorry was well alight when fire crews from Lancaster and Morecambe arrived.

Firefighters used breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera and a water jet to extinguish the flames.

Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service were at the scene for approximately one hour and forty minutes.
