A NEW drawing showing an important change to the Heysham-M6 link road scheme has been produced by County Hall highways officials.
Lancashire County Council, which was told to find savings on the scheme as a condition of retaining government funding support, made the alterations to help cut the cost of the road from £139m to £123m.
The biggest saving, shown in the drawing, involves lifting the new Shefferlands roundabout near Foundry Lane, Halton, by 46 feet.
Excavation works will be reduced and a bridge will be built to run the carriageway over rather than under Halton Road.
