Crash leads to two lane closure on M6 causing long delays northbound

The accident occurred earlier this morning between junction 34 for Lancaster and junction 35 for Carnforth, causing long tailbacks.Highways England say traffic should return to normal by 11.45am at the latest.The crash happened on the M6 northbound at around 6.40am, a spokesman for Lancaster fire service said.Two lanes were closed due to the accident and surface water on the road between junction 34, Bay Gateway, Lancaster, and junction 35, Carnforth.The road was closed from 7.15am until 8.15am. Two lanes remain closed.Recovery for the vehicles is ongoing. Drivers are facing delays of up to 20 minutes between Lancaster and Carnforth, according to the AA Roadwatch.
