Car flipped in late night smash

Fire crews were called to a woman trapped in an overturned car.

The incident happened in Cockersand Drive, Lancaster at around 4.30am on Sunday.

A 999 caller reported the car was on its side and leaking fuel.

When crews from Lancaster Fire Station arrived the woman had already been freed from the vehicle and was being treated by paramedics.

Fire crews used a winch to haul the car back upright, preventing any further fuel spillage.
