Torrisholme lost by 96 runs away at Croston on Saturday in the Palace Shield Premier Division.

Croston captain Jonathan Driver won the toss and elected to bat first and the home side went on to post an excellent total of 246-3.

Adam Sexton (17) was stumped by James Cookson off Daniel Woods (1-59) and Cookson also took a wicket when he removed Stephen Langton (25).

Ian Dickinson (70) impressed for the home side but he was eventually run out, while Sam Marsh (106) took centre stage.

It was always going to be a big ask for Torrisholme to reach their target and they fell well short, being bowled out for 150.

Opener Jack Heap (42) got Torrisholme off to a good start before being caught by Sam Marsh off Lee Childs (4-45), while Aaron Tinker (19), Bryson Little (25), Rhaul Gupta (21) and Neil Jordan (11) also reached double figures.

However, the rest of the order failed to offer any real support as Croston picked up 12 points in what was a comprehensive victory.

Callum Mcilveen (4-38), Jonathan Driver (1-43) and Jack Marsh (1-20) all impressed with the ball for Croston.
