Lancaster St John’s Hopsice presents the 5km family run for the second year on Sunday September 13.

The run starting at 10am will help to raise much needed funds for the Slyne Road hospice. The event, sponsored for the second year by JWK Solicitors, sees families run through five different colour stations where they are showered in a rainbow of coloured powder.

The success of last year’s event, followed by the Kendal Colour Dash in April, meant that demand for this year’s run has been higher than ever.

Karen Crossley, a community fundraiser at St John’s Hospice, said: “This will be the biggest one we have done so far. We are expecting over 700 people to take part.

“Last year over £22,000 was raised for the hospice and the Kendal event raised over £17,000 so it is a really important day for us, as well as the most fun event we do.”

Participants, who all begin the run in pristine white T-shirts, will meet behind the Midland Hotel and must be registered by 9.40am at the latest for the 10am start.
