Three Peaks with a difference!
Not only will Mick Freeman from Lancaster and the other members of his family be taking on the three highest mountains of England, Scotland and Wales but they’ll be cycling between them too.
It was at a family get-together earlier this year when Mick announced that he would like to do some fundraising for Lancaster’s hospice.

Setting off from St John’s Hospice at 9am on Saturday, August 4, the family members aged between nine and 53 will cycle to Ben Nevis which they will climb, before getting back on their bikes to cycle to Scafell Pike in the Lake District, before heading to the final of the three peaks, Mount Snowdon in Wales.
In total they will cycle almost 1,000 miles over the planned 19 days.
Mick and wife Marrie said, “We have been lucky enough, as a family not to have used the services St John’s Hospice provides but being a local charity, and practically on our doorstep, we are well aware of the amazing work they do and the support they provide to the local community.

Lisa Morgan, community fundraiser at the hospice, is supporting Mick and the family in the build-up to their challenge,
“Mick and his family are so lovely and we are so grateful for them choosing to support our hospice,” she said.
“They are so enthusiastic; they are holding fundraising events in the build-up including a meal and auction night, and an 80s night.”

Hide AdMick is a joiner and has taken the unusual step of using his works van to fundraise by selling advertising space to local businesses.
The van will also be going with them on their journey as it’s the support vehicle and mobile tent.
If anyone wants a spot on the van for their business, they can call the fundraising team at the hospice who will put you in touch with Mick.”
Mick and family have an online fundraising page and are hoping to reach a target of £1,500 for the hospice.
