Thousands wowed at Blackpool Air Show
Thousands of people turned out to see one of the world’s most popular aircraft, Vulcan XH558, make its last ever appearance in the North West.
The final remaining Vulcan is in her last flying season before being retired after a remarkable career which saw the plane play a key role both during the conflict in the Falklands and during the Cold War.

A spokesman for Visit Blackpool said: “It was an absolutely fantastic day. There were tens of thousands of people packing the promenade and the beach and we have another show all afternoon tomorrow as well, so another chance for people to see some fantastic aircraft.”
The air show, which has been held for more than 100 years, will continue tomorrow with a host of aircraft.
The Huey will return to the sky, as well as the historic Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress 1930s bomber, which is coming to Blackpool for the first time.
The Red Devils free fall team and the Breitling Wing Walkers will also entertain visitors.
