Radio Lancashire did a live broadcast from St George’s Quay and a Batala drumming band performed for the crowd at Giant Axe.

The Visitor and the Lancaster Guardian took the opportunity to join with St John’s Hospice and launch the papers’ Save our Hospice campaign. Visitor and Lancaster Guardian editor Nicola Adam spoke about the Save our Hospice campaign on Radio Lancashire. She said she hoped as many people as possible would get involved in the fundraising efforts.

Members of staff from The Visitor and workers and volunteers from St John’s Hospice handed out leaflets promoting the campaign. There was also a collection in aid of the Save our Hospice campaign.
