FIRST TransPennine Express (FTPE) is pleased to announce that drivers union ASLEF has suspended the planned industrial action affecting FTPE train services tomorrow, Friday.
FTPE are advising customers that a normal timetable will be in operation tomorrow and they should continue with their journeys as planned.
FTPE and ASLEF have agreed to continue discussions with no pre-conditions attached. New negotiations over pay will now commence.
Vernon Barker, FTPE’s managing director, said: “This is good news for our customers travelling to and from work or for events across our network ahead of the bank holiday weekend.
“I want to apologise to customers that may have been inconvenienced earlier in the week.
“We will be endeavouring to operate our normal timetable on Friday 26th August.”
FTPE confirmed that no agreement on the pay settlement has been reached but industrial action is suspended to allow for meaningful discussions to continue.
