Star apprentice scoops top award

An electrical and building apprentice has been named one of the best in the country.

Harry Bartle won the Electrical Contractors’ Association (ECA) Edmundson Apprentice of the Year trophy at a ceremony in London.

Harry, 21, works for Morecambe firm Chris Bowker Ltd.

He won £1,000, a state-of-the-art tool kit and will also take part in a study tour sponsored by leading manufacturer Schneider to their facility in the French Alps.

“It’s an absolute honour,” said Harry.

“The training and experience I have received from Chris Bowker has been first class and it’s been a pleasure to represent the company.”

Harry will now represent the ECA as an ambassador to encourage young people to join the industry.

The 42nd ECA Edmundson Awards, held on September 21, were attended by leading figures from the electrotechnical industry.
