The event is being held to mark National Play Day. The fun begins at 10am and runs until 4pm. It is free to take part and there is no need to book. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult.

Coun Darren Clifford, Lancaster City Council cabinet member for leisure, said: “National Play Day has become an exciting fixture on the events calendar for the Lancaster district and aims to highlight children’s right to play and the importance of play in children’s lives. With so many activities available throughout the day, and all for free, it is definitely not one to miss.”

Parents are urged to use public transport and the Lancaster to Morecambe cycle path where possible as car parking will be limited at the centre on the day. For more information visit www.lancaster.gov.uk/playday or call Salt Ayre Leisure Centre on 01524 847 540.
